Our world is vastly driven by materialism. I think most believe school is more of a chore to acquire more materials and in a sense a business rather than a genuine attainment for the betterment of all mankind. In or for it to change I feel people must find a goal at the end. The highest educated and logical people are not atop the leadership ranks unfortunately because they are wise and do not want to deal with corruption at the current time. Until people grow up in a sense mentally this world will continue down it's repetitive path until the best of the best are atop the decision making processes. Our population is vast as well how do you teach 7 billion plus truth. It would require a total wordly effort by all governments. Most governments just want to control there people at this time. If they ever want to take the next step knowledge must be the forefront of there existence. IMO I feel there should be classes for parents aspiring to have children, work manners and behavioral school, basics of proper communication with others that speak other languages, teaching and learning no matter what age you are..............and many other countless studies best left for when there desire is truly directed at constructive and less destructive alterior motives. Knowledge is a timeless ageless wonder if you find the truth and realize it's potential. Long time still before they are mature enough here.
