I will develop a SPECIAL tranquilizer dart for aggressive humans that exhibit the aggressor gene still. They inject daily to curb there rage and fury to a standstill of epic quiet nature filled with chirping birds. :) j/k Good read once again.

As an opening I want to say 3 things:

1. I agree that Ego/Self is a hypothetical construct, if that means it is an observable and testable assumption which could not be extensively demonstrated by using existing methods and instruments, not a nonobservable and nontestable assumption that should be taken for granted as true in order to start an explaination. Ego/Self is not an axiom, an assumption derived from previous assumptions which have been accepted as true statements (statements which reflect reality). The existence of Ego/Self is assumed because the observations compelled the observer to do so, since what he found in his observations can no longer be described by using the term "personality". While an axiom could only be accepted or refuted by considering its consistency with the preceding assumptions, a hypothetical construct could be accepted or refuted by measuring its consistency with the reality through tests and experiments.

2. Alter ego means other self, not higher self or superior self. Freud's conception of alter ego could be found on many websites.

3. To the prize question "where, in your opinion, can self-knowledge be found?" I answer: in the interactions with other selves (other Egos).
